Nestled on the shores of Strangford Lough, our award-winning Cuan Seafood Restaurant is a celebration of fresh, local seafood and the proud fishing heritage of the Irish coast. Our menu is thoughtfully curated to showcase the very best of what our waters have to offer. Our summer menu features some delicious starters including – Smoked Mackerel Pate, with pickled cucumber and sourdough crostini, Thai Fishcakes with sweet and sour cucumber and Seafood Chowder with Guinness wheaten bread. Our mains include locally caught lobster and sweet succulent Portavogie prawns with garlic butter and toasted sourdough, to our ever-popular Kilkeel crab & prawn cocktail paired with Guinness wheaten bread, a refreshing classic with a coastal twist.
Our Cajun blackened cod with Morteau sausage, butter beans and kale, and pan-seared seabass paired with sauce Vierge, are favourites among seafood lovers, while our signature crispy fish & chips and battered scampi & chips are comforting, golden delights, that keep guests coming back time and time again. These dishes pay homage to centuries of fishing tradition in Ireland, especially along the east coast, where communities like Ardglass, Kilkeel & Portavogie have relied on the sea for generations. That deep connection to the sea lives on in every plate we serve. Very much focusing on sustainability, seasonality, and bold honest flavour. At The Cuan, we don’t just serve seafood, we tell the story of our coast, one delicious bite at a time.
