Head Chef

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food preparation, culinary techniques, and food safety standards. Under the guidance of our Executive Chef, the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, menu development, and ensuring the highest quality of food production in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, presentation skills, and food safety practices.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish served.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing kitchen budgets and controlling food costs while maintaining high standards of quality.

 

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen operations.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a restaurant setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
  • A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development is essential.

Front of House Waiting Staff

We are looking for full and part time bar and waiting staff to join our team at The Cuan

What do I need?

  • A passion and a flair for hospitality
  • Preferably at least 12 months previous experience in a busy restaurant
  • An attention for detail
  • Be passionate about customer service and guest experience
  • Be able to work in a team
  • Be flexible to work a variety of shift patterns. This role includes daytime and evening shifts.
  • A willingness to learn new skills
  • Have initiative and motivation
  • To be professional
  • Barista trained is always a bonus!
  • Knowledge of allergens although training will be given

 

What will I be doing?

  • Greeting, serving and looking after our guests
  • Cleaning and resetting tables
  • Getting to know our guests and what their preferences are
  • Work within a team to create a great atmosphere
  • Know all of our menus and be able to make recommendations
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness
  • Maintaining food hygiene standards
  • Table service for food and drinks
